Kudos to the team at Lagerland for the world premiere at the Chagrin Fall Documentary Film Festival on October 8th, 2026. It was great to collaborate with Mike Suglio and his team on the Graphics and Animations in this documentary film. From working with the Cleveland Public Library historical photography archives to putting graphics into motion. It’s a great film that weaves the story of the history of brewing in Cleveland with present day.

About the Film

Lagerland is a feature documentary film which explores Cleveland’s rich beer brewing history through interviews and archival photos.  The film explores the importance of brewing lager style of beer, tracing it from German immigration in the 1800s to present-day Cleveland.

Lagerland features several interviews with many of the top brewery owners and brewmasters in Cleveland such as Patrick Conway, owner and creator of Great Lakes Brewing Co. and Andy Tveekrem, owner and brewmaster of Market Garden Brewing Co.
